Retirement and Planning for the Future
I’ve been making cakes for the last 13 years, and while I have loved what I do, it’s time for a change. I have decided to retire from making cakes and taking orders this year. I am finding myself in a new season of life and it is more important that I spend more time with my family.
Now, I’m not ready to completely leave the cake community, so I have come up with a new idea that I think will be fun, and not too overwhelming for my schedule. I will be opening a new division of Bit of Whimsy Cakes called Carefree Cake Factory. This will be an online shop with cake/cupcake decorating kits, recipe books, cake toppers, and classes. And I will even offer some fun bakery and cake decorating themed gift ideas like personalized aprons, graphic tees and tumblers.
