After 8 years of doing cakes, I am amazed by how much our business has grown. And I have some pretty awesome goals for 2017!
One of my first goals for this year was to get one of our cakes published in a magazine. On April 17th, we attended the launch party for the second volume of Bridal Bliss Magazine. Bridal Bliss Magazine is a publication that is local to central Kentucky and features local vendors and real weddings. How exciting to have one of our sweet brides featured! This cake for Alex and Matt was definitely one of the biggest cakes I’ve ever done. It was over 4 feet tall with 5 tiers of cake and beautiful flowers nestled between each tier. I was so excited to hear that Alex wanted lots of color instead of the typical white wedding cake. Cranberry-colored rosettes with gold pearl centers, navy quilted tiers with sugar diamonds, and a gold tier with the couple’s monogram made for a very colorful, but elegant cake design. And the cake fit perfectly among the gorgeous table decorations and centerpieces from Sherwood Design and Events, in the beautiful Signature Club. Honey Heart Photography captured absolutely stunning photos of all of the details.
If having that gorgeous wedding featured wasn’t enough, we also had another cake photo in the magazine’s special fold-out all about naked cakes! Amber and Justin had the most beautiful, laid back reception at High Bridge Park. Amber knew she loved the simplicity of a naked cake. Between the three tiers of lemon blueberry cake with sweet lemon mousse squishing out between the layers, the vintage style cake stand, the blue and white gingham table cloth, and the lovely vase of wildflowers, this wedding vignette was perfection!
